METHOD FOR PRODUCING FUNGAL BIOCOMPOSITES USING LIGNOCELLULOSIC WASTE AND BYPRODUCTS, FUNGAL BIOCOMPOSITES, USE OF SAID BIOCOMPOSITES FOR PRODUCING CIVIL ENGINEERING AND SOUNDPROOFING ARTICLES, PACKAGINGS AND THE LIKE

The present invention pertains to the biotechnology field aimed at the market of soundproofing and civil engineering articles, packagings, architecture and interior design, and relates, more specifically, to a method for producing fungal biocomposites in two growth steps, using lignocellulosic waste (husks, straw, bagasse, sawdust, etc) from the agricultural industry as the raw material. The method is aimed at providing fungus-based biocomposites that offer sustainable and environmentally friendly consumption goods. The present material exhibits various interesting chemical, physical and mechanical properties that make it possible to develop solutions for replacing materials of non-renewable origin in the fields of civil engineering and soundproofing (replacing expanded polystyrene, glass wool and rock wool), protective packaging (replacing plastics in general) and architecture or interior design (decorative articles).
