The present invention relates to biodegradable, recyclable, compostable, sealable and thermoformed packaging for use as packaging for food, personal and household care products, and to the method for manufacturing same. Problem addressed: To provide a simple, low-cost and easy-to-manufacture solution that can be placed in a cooking oven and hence withstand "high" temperatures, and that is also compostable, recyclable and biodegradable, besides being produced from renewable, non food sources. Solution to the problem: For that purpose, a biodegradable packaging is proposed composed of layers, including a paper substrate (10) and a coating (20) for the substrate (10), the coating comprising a biodegradable resin of vegetable origin from a plant that is not a food source.
