MATERIAL BIODEGRADABLE DE FACIL PROCESABILIDAD Y SU METODO DE OBTENCION.
The present invention relates to a starch-based biodegradable material with an SME of up to 11.76 KJ/Kg and a degree of crystallinity of up to 5.27%, thus facilitating processability. The biodegradable material is starch with dual modification, by oxidation using a sodium hypochlorite solution and by esterification in reactive extrusion in the presence of maleic anhydride, distilled water, luperox 101 initiating agents, and plasticizer, which has an improvement of up to 400 times of Young's modulus and up to 150 times the value of the tensile strength. The two-stage process for obtaining the biodegradable material is scalable to higher levels of production due to its reproducibility and low technical and operational complexity, adapting its use as a material in the packaging industry, food packaging, construction, footwear, agricultural films, automotive, and in almost any application of plastics at an industrial level, using an injection molding method, blown extrusion, compression t hermoforming, among others. The material is compatible with the preparation of mixtures with other polymeric resins of fossil or biological origin.
